Background Investigations

Employment offers and continued employment are contingent upon a satisfactory background investigation. Candidates being considered for employment must complete and sign a release authorization and FCRA disclosure form prior to Human Resources initiating the background investigation. TrueScreen is the vendor authorized to conduct background checks for Tennessee Tech.

Employment Eligibility Verification

The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 requires Tennessee Tech to employ only U.S. citizens and aliens lawfully authorized to work in the U.S. All new employees will be required to complete an employer’s verification form, I-9, no later than the first day of work for pay. In addition, Tennessee Tech uses E-Verify to confirm work authorization.
