Job Purpose

Teach courses in structural engineering and engineering mechanics.

Essential Functions

Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in structural engineering and engineering mechanics. Perform research and other scholarly activities. Advise students. Serve on departmental, college and university committees. Participate in public service activities.

Minimum Qualifications

PhD from an accredited institution in Civil Engineering, or closely related field with emphasis in structural engineering or engineering mechanics. B.S. from an accredited institution in Engineering. Graduate level expertise in structural engineering or engineering mechanics. Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and scholarly activities. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

B.S. in Civil Engineering. Professional registration or started the process of registration. Demonstrated track record of excellence in teaching, peer-reviewed scholarly research, and grantsmanship. Structural design experience.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Commensurate with education and experience. Full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position to begin August 1, 2018.
Benefits Information

Benefits include the accumulation of one sick leave day per month and thirteen University holidays. Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with the university), retirement, optional 401k, and educational benefits. Deferred income and benefits over 12 months.
