Job Purpose

Provide technology support to faculty, staff, and students, and maintain computers (both hardware and software) and related technologies in the campus environment.

Essential Functions

Management of hourly workers. Administration of desktop and laptop machines (office or lab), including programming and deployment. Needs analysis for users, including system analysis and purchasing consultation. Additional duties include communicating with faculty and staff, and departmental and ITS liaisons; managing servers; planning for upcoming projects and initiatives; and performing research on current issues and solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in computer science, management information systems, computer engineering, or a related IT field with one year relevant experience OR at least 90 hours of college credit from an accredited institution with five years of relevant experience. Familiar with programming, deployment, and analysis techniques for MAC OS X, Linux, and Windows, as well as common software applications. Skilled in time management, customer relations, and analyzing higher-lever policies and usage. Expert-level technical proficiency for servers and systems. Managerial skills related to purchase consultation and supervision of student workers.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience providing technical support in a higher education environment. Advanced technical knowledge of Mac OS X, Linux, and Windows, multimedia equipment, instructional technology tools, and hardware. Experience with enterprise-level remote deployment tools.

Work Hours

Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Additional hours if/when needed.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Commensurate with education and experience; Administrative Pay Grade AD45. Anticipated vacancy pending Board approval and funding.
Benefits Information

Benefits include the accumulation of two vacation days per month and one sick leave day per month, and thirteen University holidays. Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with the university), retirement, optional 401k, and educational benefits.
