Job Purpose

Manage the periodical collection – both receiving new issues and maintaining the bound volumes. Catalog new library materials.

Essential Functions

Check in new periodical issues and manage the periodical/newspaper collection. Catalog new library materials. Bibliographic maintenance in the library system. Withdraw books and monographic serials from the catalog. Manage the disposal of withdrawn library books, periodicals, and other media. Receive and process library gifts. Prepare and pay for non-electronic material in Eagle Buy. Physically process materials for circulation by adding call number, barcode, and ownership stamps.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Three years of clerical/secretarial experience. Proficiency with computers and computer software.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in library science or related field. Three years of library work experience. Experience with Banner.

Work Hours

Typical hours are Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Commensurate with education and experience. Clerical & Support skill level 6.
Benefits Information

Benefits include the initial accumulation of one vacation day per month and one sick leave day per month, and thirteen University holidays. Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with the university), retirement, optional 401k, and educational benefits.
