Job Purpose

Recruit for and teach the voice studio. Teach undergraduate music courses as needed.

Essential Functions

Responsible for recruiting, teaching undergraduate students Applied Voice and directing Opera/Music Theater Workshop. Additional courses such as Diction and Vocal Literature may be assigned according to candidate’s qualifications and departmental needs. Participate in a collaborative environment that ensures student success while maintaining a high level of scholarly/creative activity.

Minimum Qualifications

Earned Doctorate in Music (ABD considered) from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching experience at the college level or equivalent significant professional experience; evidence of high quality, sustained scholarly/creative activity; and a demonstrated commitment to teaching and student recruitment.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Commensurate with education and experience. Full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position to begin August 1, 2018.
Benefits Information

Benefits include the accumulation of one sick leave day per month and thirteen University holidays. Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with the university), retirement, optional 401k, and educational benefits. Deferred income and benefits over 12 months.
